Do you know what Heaven looks like?

Have you ever wondered what heaven would look like? Have you ever felt like you caught a glimpse?

I had the opportunity to go to Communion America this week. It was really cool how God brought so many believers from all over the nation to our capital for prayer and worship God. We saw acts of faith, repentance and miracles. We got to minister to each other. It was amazing.
I want to share with you about their communion table. They were calling it the “table of the Lord” because it was meant to be a time for everyone to come together and eat with each other and share communion as one people, one Church, with God in our midst.  Many of us from YWAM Lynchburg and Richmond gathered together to eat at one of the tables; one of our friends we had not seen in a while sat with us as well. As I prepared to sit down, someone walked past on the other side of the table; it was one of my friends from Orlando FL who I was roommates with in Discipleship Bible school (DBS.)  She happened to be sitting not more than 4 chairs from us! We had not seen each other in over a year and it turns out my other friend from Orlando was also there with her. It was a beautiful time of reunion and getting to introduce them to my other friends.
As we ate, even more of old friends walked past and they came and sat with us. We caught up on each other’s lives and shared testimonies. I discovered my best friend and her whole family were there as well and was able to meet her youngest son. I began to feel so full of joy. It was as if God was bringing us together so that we could enjoy people we hadn’t seen in long periods of time.
As I laid on the National Mall lawn with my Orlando friends sitting all around me I realized that someday we would get to meet everyone at these tables; there would be no time constraint nor stress about who we to talk to, because we will all be in eternity together with those who truly believe in the Lord. It really did feel like a piece of heaven: family coming together, the bride of Christ joined together in unity with God in our midst.  It was beautiful.
Pray for the church to be united in spirit and mind this week. Pray for our nation and other nations to fall on their faces before God. What are your “heaven-on-earth stories”?  Please share with us in the comments.

  1. I heard about this event. It must have been quite a sight. It feels like heaven with other believers, worship and intimacy with God, and God removing pain and sorrow. But I can’t wait to experience it’s fullness.
