Family
Roger and DeAnn joined YWAM Virginia in 1990 with a focus on King’s Kids International, aiming to disciple their six children alongside other families. Their ministry allowed them to grow together as a family in faith while raising their children in a Christ-centered environment. Highlights include attending Target World ’96 during the Atlanta Olympic Games and traveling to Paisley, Scotland, for leadership training in child and youth ministry. They discovered a heart for Tanzania while helping start a Principles in Child & Youth Ministry school in Arusha in 2005. Their family continues to model discipleship, hospitality, and service to others.

Ministry
They have served over decades in child and youth ministry, leadership training, and missions, including multiple outreaches to Tanzania, Kenya, and Pemba Island. Since 2015, their focus has been on member care, directing support at YWAM Richmond and assisting other locations in Lynchburg and Virginia Beach. They have staffed and taught Missionary Care Foundations Courses in the U.S. and internationally, equipping and restoring missionaries for long-term service. Additionally, they serve on the North American Member Care Core Team. Their ministry extends through hospitality, mentoring, and Bible study, providing care and training for missionaries worldwide.
