Family
Chris and Kara, originally from Michigan and North Carolina, have built a family centered on faith, leadership, and mission. They were married in 2006 and have three children: Isaac, Hannah Grace, and Jonathan. Kara grew up in YWAM as a King’s Kid, while Chris experienced significant success early in his business career before responding to God’s call into full-time missions. Together, they are passionate about raising their children in a Christ-centered environment and empowering the next generation of leaders. Their family reflects a deep commitment to discipleship, service, and pioneering ministry both locally and globally.

Ministry
Chris and Kara have been deeply involved in missions and leadership development for many years. Since 2008, Chris has served as the Director of YWAM Virginia (now YWAM: Commonwealth Ministries), carrying the vision to “Passionately Follow God & Champion Young People.” He has mentored and equipped young leaders in over 25 nations. Kara, with a background in Urban Studies and nonprofit management, serves as a key community leader in Richmond’s East End. Since 2019, their leadership has helped oversee multiple YWAM campuses, including Richmond, Virginia Beach, Lynchburg, and City Lights, with a focus on pioneering and releasing young leaders into ministry.
