Let’s continue working on defeating the lies we’ve been believing.
Do you remember the steps from the first blog (Truths to Hold On To)?
- Identify the lie the enemy fed you.
- Find the truths in God’s Word and what He has spoken to you.
- Speak or pray those truths out loud until you believe them and act in that belief.
- Rebuke the enemy.
- Thank God for anything and everything.
Today, let’s look at Psalm 64.
Psalm 64
1O God, listen to my complaint.
Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.
2Hide me from the plots of this evil mob,
from this gang of wrongdoers.
3They sharpen their tongues like swords
and aim their bitter words like arrows.
4They shoot from ambush at the innocent,
attacking suddenly and fearlessly.
5They encourage each other to do evil
and plan how to set their traps in secret.
“Who will ever notice?” they ask.
6As they plot their crimes, they say,
“We have devised the perfect plan!”
Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.
7But God himself will shoot them with his arrows,
suddenly striking them down.
8Their own tongues will ruin them,
and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
9Then everyone will be afraid;
they will proclaim the mighty acts of God
and realize all the amazing things he does.
10The godly will rejoice in the LORD
and find shelter in him.
And those who do what is right
will praise him.
This is our God:
- God listens
- He protects
- He hides me
- He defends me
- He is mighty
- He is amazing
- he is worth getting excited over
- He is our shelter/ safe place
- He is worthy of praise
Praise God He is these things! Don’t you just need Him to be these things—like, most of the time each day? I don’t know about you, but I need Him to be these things all the time. A lot of times, I need Him not just to protect me from the enemy but also to protect me from myself and help me through the messes I’ve created.
What was your favorite part of this Scripture? Why? Where have you seen Him in your life in any of these ways? Please share with us. Have a good week, everyone.
